Solanes demonstrates the true potential of the Carignan grape when blended with four other varieties; one native (Garnatxa) and three international (Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot). The grapes with which Solanes is made come from vines that are as old as 35 years and planted in slate soil. The grapes are hand picked.
Very ripe black fruit notes and very light touches of toast appear on the nose, along with underwood, mint and dried fruit… On the palate, it is silky and smooth, exuding notes of liquorice, black fruit and spices. Very ripe tannins and well integrated acidity.
