The beautiful Elgin Valley is a high inland plateau, completely surrounded by mountains, just 70km from Cape Town, South Africa. It is rapidly gaining a reputation for the production of premium quality wines. This is the home of The Elgin Vintners, publishers of fine wines, a close knit partnership of 6 dedicated wine growers from the Elgin Valley.
The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc offers a distinctive taste of the variety in South Africa. Water white and light in body its shows a lean flinty crusted stone nose, citrus fruit and herbaceous notes of green leaf. The palate has crisp acidity and stone fruit flavours with a moderately long minerally finish.
Good partner to fish dishes, mussels or grilled asparagus.
