Hauts De Montrouge Floc De Gascogne Blanc

Floc de Gascogne is prepared according to a tradition dating back to the 17th century. This 16,5 % Vol. liqueur wine is made by adding grape juice to a young Armagnac. The selected Armagnac must be of a minimum alcohol strength of 52 % Vol
The selected grape juice is the fine quality of the  "fleur d’armagnac" obtained from unfermented wine with a minimum of 170 g. of sugar per litre, the sugar is added either before fermentation or at the very beginning of the process to ensure the ideal alcohol-sugar balance. The Floc is then aged for about 10 months in oak casks. In 1976, Floc de Gascogne was officially manufactured for the first time with Ministerial approval under this name. In 1989, the I.N.A.O. (National Controlled Origin Institute) granted the Floc de Gascogne the A.O.C. designation.

Blended from white grapes growing on light soils on gentle South-East and receiving optimal sunshine. 60% of Colombard (for its fruity taste of liquorice and mint). 30% of Ugni-Blanc (for the freshness and balance it brings) 10% of Gros-Manseng ( for the fruity sweetness of the grape).

Floc de Gascogne Blanc is best enjoyed chilled as an aperitif, but also with Foie Gras, a slice of fine cheese or a dessert.
