Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2018
The Allegrini Family’s history can be traced back to as early as the 16th century when the first generation of the family planted vines in the areas of Fumane and Valpolicella in Italy. Today, they are the most reputed and recognised wine families in the Italian countryside.
The 2018 vintage was long, with good yields of slow-ripening, highquality grapes. Spring was particularly wet and in early July, due to the considerable number of bunches, thinning was carried out to restore balance to the vines. July was a dry period, interspersed with timely rain showers. In September, warmer weather returned with temperatures reaching 33°C during the day, but remaining cool at night.
This vintage is a classic expression of the appellation, with intense aromas of ripe, dark fruit and spice, it has a powerful structure and depth, superb balance with refined tannins and a long, spiced finish.
