The 2012 Nest Egg Chardonnay is the Flagship White of the company and only 8300 bottles were made, with each bottle individually numbered.   A larger vintage than the 2010 due to the exceptional high quality grapes available from the years harvest.

Rapidly gaining cult status, Bird in Hand wines across the range offer fantastic value for money and add elegance to the consistency and fruit profile of Australian wines.

The 2008 vintage was rated as the best Chardonnay to come out of Australia at a Decanter tasting in March 2011 so this wine has a first class pedigree.

James Halliday: 95/100

Bottle no. 7314 of 8300. Like its sibling, uses whole bunch pressing and French oak fermentation, and has the same alcohol, yet this is a far finer and more intense wine with precision and focus to its white peach and grapefruit flavours that are drawn out on the finish by lingering acidity.

92 wine points on

The 2015 Nest Egg Chardonnay has a beautiful apricot, pink grapefruit and pineapple-scented nose with suggestions of brioche, marzipan and ginger. The medium-bodied palate has very impressive intensity of tropical and savory flavor layers, supported by a lively line and finishing long and creamy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
