On the palate it is saline, crisp, and clean, resulting in a unique finesse. A small amount, 7%, is matured in old french oak barrels to add a layer of complexity to the wine, which is a must try for any Sauvignon Blanc enthusiast.

DOMAINE DE LA DENANTE SAINT-VERAN 2016
Like the rising prow of some ancient fossilised ship, the Roche de Soultré dominates the surrounding landscape of the Mâconnais. This limestone escarpment stands tall over the 10 hectare vineyard where Robert Martin and his son, Damien, work their land lutte-raisonnée. Here they create elegant, restrained, mineral driven Mâcon-Davayé and rich, full, but elegant St Véran. These wines are deliciously drinkable and incredible value.
A Classic white Burgundy with no oak, glistening with finesse, such is the tension between elegance and fullness: gentle scents mingle with a lively freshness, the soft and generous Chardonnay fruit is perfectly poised on the palate leading to good length in the finish. Perfect with white meats such as chicken, turkey and pork.
