Cabriz Dao Rosado
Cabriz tells a story that is born in Dão, in a trip through the heart of Portugal, through the lands, hills, and people, presenting a wide portfolio that seeks to fulfil all segments and moments of consumption but always following the same principle: to produce wines that have a great quality.
In 1989, in the heart of the Dão wine region, Dão Sul is born. Inspired in Quinta de Cabriz, a property with a magnificent manor house and a chapel of the XVII century, Dão Sul has become a reference of winemaking in the Dão. Of the vineyards surrounded by pine trees, the grapes produced in integrated production give way to wines with balanced acidity and delicate aromas.
The Cabriz Dao Rosado is a blend of tradtional Portugeuese varieties of 50% Touriga-Nacional and 50% Alfrocheiro. WInemaker Osvaldo Amado sets about creating this fresh, well-balanced rose through a cool 15-degree ferment in stainless steel, where it undergoes regular batonnage for 2 months in tank followed by natural clarification and 2 months in bottle prior to release.
The resulting wine shows fresh red fruits, predominantly strawberry and raspberry with blueberry and rose petal touches. Fruity, fresh, with medium weight, soft and crispy freshness and just a touch off-dry it is delicious as an aperitif or with prawns, dishes with spice or Asian influences.
