Cabriz Dao Tinto Reserva 2016
Cabriz tells a story that is born in Dão, in a trip through the heart of Portugal, through the lands, hills, and people, presenting a wide portfolio that seeks to fulfil all segments and moments of consumption but always following the same principle: to produce wines that have a great quality.
In 1989, in the heart of the Dão wine region, Dão Sul is born. Inspired in Quinta de Cabriz, a property with a magnificent manor house and a chapel of the XVII century, Dão Sul has become a reference of winemaking in the Dão. Of the vineyards surrounded by pine trees, the grapes produced in integrated production give way to wines with balanced acidity and delicate aromas.
The Tinto Reserva is a blend of 40% Touriga-Nacional, 30% Alfrocheiro and 30% Aragonez which is fermented at 26 degrees and has a long slow skin contact to gently extract ripe tannins. After fermentation, it spends 9 months in French oak barrels to mature and harmonise.
The resulting wine is deeply coloured with intense notes of red fruit jam, dry fruits, toasted notes and a fruity, soft distinct mouthfeel, with an elegant and lingering finish. Ideal with matured cheeses and Mediterranean, Chinese, Indian or African cuisine.
