CASTILLO PERELADA EMPORDA CAVA ROSADO BRUT NV
Wine has been made at the Castillo Perelada since the Middle Ages, as shown in several documents and parchments from the period to be found in the library. When Miguel Mateu bought this ensemble of monuments in 1923, one of his primary objectives was to revitalize the wine producing tradition, a tradition that is more alive than ever these days and which has incorporated the most modern technology to create wines that make full use of the nuances of the soils and vines of the Empordà.
Traditional cavas produced with the charisma which characterises Perelada. They are structured, elegant and have a tremendous sensory breadth. Perelada Brut Rosé, a fruity and floral cava which was a great favourite of the brilliant Salvador Dalí, is born from a blend of Garnatxa, Pinot Noir and Trepat.Flushed pink color. Clean and bright. Its generous stream of fine bubbles forms a crown. It has a sweet aroma that recalls little wild strawberries with rich overtones. This wine has a complex and fruity taste, full and with a good balance in the mouth.

"The Non-Vintage Brut Rosado is a blend of 60% Trepat, 20% Monastrell, and 20% Pinot Noir. It gives up an enticing nose of cherry blossom, strawberry, and rhubarb leading to a medium-dry, spicy, well-balanced wine with a refreshing finish. Drink it over the next 12-18 months.
Castillo Perelada’s finest wines are their deluxe still wine cuvees from the DO of Emporda where their magnificent estate (a must for tourists) is located. However, they also produce very good Cavas in a variety of styles. Rose Cava is a wonderful match for Spain’s great hams and Castillo Perelada makes several."
