Cavino Nemea Reserve Agiorgitiko
CAVINO was founded in 1958, and is located on the slopes of Aigialia, amid charming vineyards with the main goal and vision to promote Greek wines both in Greece and abroad while being committed to producing high-quality wines. Now distributed throughout Greece and in 50 countries around the world the wines have won awards in international competitions and from world-class reputable wine writers and critics.
Vineyards for these grapes are small and in a sub-mountainous location of Nemea at an altitude of 400 - 600m. After careful harvesting the grapes are processed then the must stays in contact with the skins until the end of the fermentation. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless tanks and the wine is aged for 14 months in oak barrels and a further 2 years in bottle before release.
The indigenous Agiorgitiko handled like this delivers a wine of deep purple colour and vibrant red hues. Aromatic notes of red fruit syrup, lavender, dark chocolate on the nose while the palate is elegant, with good structure and soft tannins. The finish offers a long after-taste of roasted fruits.
Try with red meat stews or cheese platters, or Greek-style dishes for the authentic experience.
