Château Bauduc is a 200-acre estate on the edge of Créon, about 15 miles (25 kms) SE of the city of Bordeaux, 15 miles SW of St-Emilion, 15 minutes north of Cadillac, and 30 minutes from the airport.  They are on the border of the Entre Deux Mers, Bordeaux Supérieur and Côtes de Bordeaux ’appellations’ and have 120,000 vines covering 65 acres (a bit over 25 hectares) surrounding the Château in a single block.

The Merlot Cabernet is a juicy, medium bodied Bordeaux from the lovely, ripe 2015 vintage. Drinking well now.

The back label: ‘This is a classic Bordeaux blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium bodied and partially aged in oak, it’s easy, fruity and supple enough to drink quite young. A French bistro sort of wine.'  13.5% alc.

2015 was a terrific vintage, especially for the Merlot-driven wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. We harvested the grapes in lovely condition at the start of October and the result is a smooth and quaffable red that’s easy to drink. This can be aged for a few years but we’re already drinking it now.
