Fieuzal rests on the most refined and slightly hilly outcrops of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the Graves vineyards. The fine soils, covered with gravel dating back millennia, allow natural drainage and heat diffusion, offering its fruits exceptional maturity. White wines benefit from the minerality and acidity of the terroir, which allows them to be complex and delicate at the same time. The terroir is just as beneficial for the reds since there is an elegant contrast between richness and freshness and the wines are capable of a remarkable evolution over time.

Protected by 30 hectares of forest and vast stretches of hedgerow, Fieuzal’s vineyard is a diverse world of its own and a treasure that it holds naturally close to its chest. 74 individual plots of 6 grape varieties are each like individual jewels that reflect the light in a different way – their rare characteristics a delight when they are picked by hand and assembled together.

Tasting Notes and Food Pairing

The wines of Fieuzal are rich and opulent. They are distinguished by a very great finesse, a velvety and a delicious bouquet. Clear, deep ruby color. Some sediment. Medium notes of ripe black cherry, black plum, chocolate, smoke and leather. Medium intensity of mint and black pepper on the palate as well. This wine is dry. Acid is med, tannins are med, alcohol is med+, body is full, and the finish is long. Very good quality.

This fantastically well balanced and complex wine would be a great accompaniment with beef cheeks in cider sauce, dumplings, white meats or cream poultry.
