The estate dates back the 18th century and is located in Barsac, more specifically on the plateau of Haut Barsac, the highest point of the city. These upper elevation vineyards, farthest away from the river, have the best terroir & the perfect geological make up to produce great Sauternes! Sauternes, and it’s “noble rot”, is a very complicated, expensive & time sensitive wine to produce. Generations have toiled to perfect their Sauternes at Chateau Grillon, yet they remain one of the best priced available.

Sauternes is a long lived wine and can last decades.  This vintage is ready to drink immediately.

Condition report

We have 2 bottles of this wine available.  While storage conditions to date are unknown and both have obvious signs of ages on their labels with some minor staining, fill levels are at the bottom of the neck and look good.  Corks and capsules look to be in perfect condition also.
