CHATEAU HAUT SAINT MARTIN BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR
Château Haut Saint Martin is on the commune of Saint Martin de Laye with an area of 8 hectares of clay and iron soil.
The vineyard belongs to the Lafon family, which works in partnership with the Milhade family. Mr Lafon was the CFO of Milhade for 40 years. The majority of the vineyards are Merlot (80%), Cabernet (10%) and Pressac (10%), also known as Malbec. From the 2013 vintage, the wine is composed only of Merlot.
Vinification is traditional in stainless steel tanks with short and regular pumping and maceration for 3 weeks. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months giving a tannic and fruity wine with a round mouth. It reveals woody aromas and red fruits like the great wines of tradition.
