Tuscany holds an enviable record: it produces Italy’s top worldwide export wines, thanks to vines that originate and grow in a fortunate union of temperate climate and great wine country.

The Chianti and Chianti Classico hill districts, set in the heart of Tuscany, are famous all over the globe for their stunning landscapes and the wine they produce.

The result is some of the best vineyard terrain in Italy and in the world, vaunting 6 of the 28 DOCGs in this country, as well as wines known and appreciated by an enormous number of consumers:Chianti, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino of the reds; Vernaccia di San Gimignano one of the whites; Vinsanto one of the dessert wines.

The Conti Serristori winery is based in Gaggiano, 300 metres asl, on the Chianti Classico hills, along the road from Poggibonsi to Castellina.

The brand is named after the venerable and renowned Florentine noble family, whose ties to the world of wine date back to 15th century, when Antonio Serristori, senator of the Republic of Florence, married the last heir of Niccolò Machiavelli, who brought with her a dowry including the farm, vines and olive groves of Sant’Andrea in Percussina.
