DOMAINE LES VERRIERES LES 7 FONTAINES
Les Verrières de Montagnac is a vineyard located in the very recent appellation of Grès de Montpellier, in the heart of this vast amphitheatre facing the Mediterranean and backed by the Cévennes, which are the Coteaux du Languedoc.
The Verrières de Montagnac is made up of small plots of arid, clay-limestone soils, cut like a chisel, reminiscent of the whole range of yellow and red ocher, surrounded by shades of khaki green of cypress, olive and fig trees, installed on a blue background azure. Born in a climate of contrasts and violence specific to the Languedoc region, between nocturnal freshness, daytime heat and strong winds, the Verrières de Montagnac wines make the most of the richness of this heritage, of its continuously worked vines which are deeply rooted to collect the water and the aromas that make it their specificity.
In search of quality, the Domaine des Verrières de Montagnac adopts the principles of sustainable agriculture, limiting the use of weedkillers and preferring to carry out severe pruning supplemented, if necessary, with “green” work to control yields and facilitate grapes ripening.
Les Sept Fontaines is a blend of four varieties. Syrah for nobility, Carignan for the story, Grenache Noir for the Mediterranean side and Cinsaut for the surprise! This blend is powerful and complex due to the different grape varieties. The nose is focused on the aroma of red and black fruits, scrubland and spices. On the palate the wine is rich with a good length.
Enjoy with grilled beef ribs of braised game.
