Domaine Michaud Gamay
At the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine Michaud is located on the right bank of the river Cher in the village of Noyers-Sur-Cher. This familial vineyard is the result of hard work and the experience of 3 generations, respecting tradition as well as progress. Their motto is: "a search for quality through the expression of the terroir". The 20 hectares of cultivated vines on the estate are based on south-facing hillsides.
Fruity red wine with aromas of red fruits (cherry, blueberry) and light.
Soil: On the right bank of the Cher, the vines are planted on sandy soils, lean, stony soils which quickly drain excess humidity. The subsoil is limestone.
Exposure: South, south-east of the hillsides overlooking the Cher
Vinification: Manual and mechanical harvesting then, vatting in the mat without crushing the grapes. Semi-carbonic fermentation in stainless steel vats at 25°-30° for 4 to 6 days. Malolactic fermentation in November December. Ageing in vats until spring, blending of the cuvées and bottling at the Domaine.
