DONA PAULA ESTATE MALBEC MENDOZA UCO VALLEY
This is a very lovely and beautifully elegant new Malbec from the famed Dona Paula estate. This high altitude wine is brimming with the variety characters and fruit purity that can only be achieved in this region. The nose is intense with black cherries, plum, tobacco and cedar.
On the palate the fruit takes the lead, with plum, blackberry and licorice. Round and soft tannins, finish off what is a really lovely wine. Great value!

Eighty-five percent of the grapes for the 2018 Estate Malbec come from their Alluvia estate vineyard in Gualtallary and the remaining 15% are sourced from Finca Los Indios in El Cepillo in the San Carlos department, all in the Valle de Uco. 2018 was an average and dry year with very healthy grapes that fermented in concrete and matured in used barrels for ten months. The wine is elegant and floral, clean and varietal, with a soft palate with round tannins and good balance. Very good value.
