Freghettina, Franciacorta brut is practically Champagne except for the fact that it is from Italy and also the price.
Grown and produced in the same way champagne is, it is almost identical in flavour except that the Freghettina Franciacorta brut would be slightly riper in style due to the warmer climate of Northern Italy.
Due to this class it is getting a reputation as one of the emerging estates in Italys booming sparkling wine sector.
Set up by Roberto Gatti who was a cellarmaster and viticulturalist for 20 years at Bellavista, before creating Ferghettina in 1990. I am sure this was a decision that he has not regretted since as his company has floushed by being a top sparkling wine producer.
