Fernando de Castilla Classic Oloroso NV
Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the historic centre of Jerez. Its story began with the aristocratic Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who for two centuries provided grapes and wine for the production of sherry in the area. In 1972 Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde took over some old sherry cellars and brandy soleras from a couple of local bodegas and changed the name of the company from Fernando III to Fernando de Castilla.
Produced from 100% Palomino Fino grapes in Jerez de la Frontera. The grapes are pressed and fermented in stainless steel until the wine reaches 18% ABV. It is then matured in oak casks according to the traditional solera and criadera system for 8 years.
A mahogany, richly coloured wine with aromas of walnuts, spice and a touch of orange peel. Not as intense as the Antique Oloroso, this Sherry is pure and dry - perfect to serve with food. Best enjoyed at 14-16 degrees C. Perfect with nuts, paté, cheese - soups and stews too.
