Galway Bay Brewery Of Foam And Fury DIPA 8.5% ABV 330ml
Galway Bay Brewery started life when friends Jason and Niall got fed up with the beer scene in Ireland and decided to do something about it… In 2009 they opened one of Ireland’s only brew pubs, The Oslo Bar in Salthill, Galway, a seaside town on the West Coast of Ireland. From a pretty simple brew kit they produced two beers that went straight from conditioning tank to tap… Over ten years and three moves later Galway Bay Brewery’s new home in Oranmore, just outside Galway, gives us the space, light and freedom to expand and experiment…
This double IPA has a hazy orange colour and dense bubbly white head with good lacing that’s reminiscent of a furious foaming wave. As fresh as the sea, the aroma and taste deliver big tropical fruits, sweet fruity malts and lots of pithy resinous fruits. It has a satisfyingly bittersweet balance and complex flavour, making it very drinkable for the mighty 8.5% ABV.
This Irish brew won Beoir’s beer of the year 2014. This is an anniversary rebrew of an IPA many said to set the benchmark for West Coast DIPA in this part of the world.
