Galway Bay Brewery started life when friends Jason and Niall got fed up of the beer scene in Ireland and decided to do something about it… In 2009 they opened one of Ireland’s only brew pubs, The Oslo Bar in Salthill, Galway, a seaside town on the West Coast of Ireland. From a pretty simple brew kit they produced two beers that went straight from conditioning tank to tap… Over ten years and three moves later Galway Bay Brewery’s new home in Oranmore, just outside Galway, gives us the space, light and freedom to expand and experiment…
With a core range of seven beers and monthly releases from fruity sours to big barrel aged beers, we brew the full spectrum of flavours.
It’s been some journey over the past ten years and we are so looking forward to what the next ten will bring…
Resin & Rye is an American style barleywine. Brewed with Maris Otter, rye malt and crystal malts. Hopped heavily with two of our favourite old school classic hops Colombus and Chinook. We brewed this resinous beast to mark the 1000th brew at our Oranmore brewery. Resin, rye and a touch of caramel sweetness, all bolstered by a firm, bitter finish. A dream fire side sipper. Drink fresh or age cold!
