Giffard Menthe Pastille
In 1885, Emile Giffard, a then pharmacist in Angers, carried out research on the digestive and refreshing properties of mint.
From a particular variety of peppermint, the “Mitcham” plant, he created a pure, transparent, refreshing mint liqueur whose success is immediate. Emile Giffard named his liqueur Menthe Pastille in reference to the taste of the mints that were very popular at the time and transforms his pharmacy into a distillery
Since its invention, the Menthe Pastille has inspired artists for graphic creations steeped in history and for 5 generations, the Giffard family has known how to convey the passion for the product, the taste of quality and the respect of the plant world to make the Menthe Pastille an iconic liqueur.
