Chateau Coulon Corbieres (Languedoc)

The Fabre Family have been producing wine in one way or another for over four hundred years. in 1711 the family settled in Gasparets, near Narbonne in the Aude department of France. Louis Fabre is head of the family concern, having taken the reins in 1982. Since 1991, Famille Fabre has converted to Organic viticulture and today 100% of its vineyards are certified Organic.  Concentrated and spicy, this Corbières shows intriguing savoury and herbal aromas of bitters and thyme. The palate is full of morello cherry fruit and carries through more woody, savoury flavours to the finish. A delight!  Perfect with casseroles and meaty dishes. See more here

Cave de Turckheim Sables et Galets Pinot Gris (Alsace)

A delicious and very expressive Pinot Gris from Frances North East.  Complex nose with violets, hints of acacia honey, quince, smokiness, sweet spices and crystallised ginger. The evolved palate opens dramatically with ginger notes and a lovely rich marmalade finish.  A beautiful and often over looked wine from France, this is a great partner to Asian style flavours and mildly spiced dishes.   See more here

Clos LHermitage Lalande de Pomerol (Bordeaux)

A Merlot, Cabernet Franc blend that is drinking extremely well right now.  This wine displays an attractive perfume of lifted fruit and floral notes that follow through to a smooth and voluptuous and velverty style palate.  The oak is integrated very well and the palate is showing some great length meaning that this is drinking perfection right now. Try with a beautifully warming beef stew, or some hard mature cheddar style cheeses. See more here

Clos Saint Pierre Macon Charnay 2014 (Burgundy)

Back in 2010, Samantha Bailey decided to search for some very special single vineyard wines from this beautiful region; wines with real elegance and typicity. After extensive tastings in the summer of 2011, she found this single vineyard with tumbling walls, old vines and real potential. Clos St Pierre was part of the ecclesiastic domaine belonging to the bishopric of Autun. Once a walled Clos, today most of the wall has tumbled to ruins apart from the northern section at the top of the slope. The vineyard is on a gentle slope, south-east facing. The whole plot is ‘enherbé’ – grass is left to grow in between the rows as this keeps other weeds at bay and also preserves the soil from erosion. Grapes from this parcel are harvested after the more generic parcels thus ensuring extra ripeness that produces natural richness in the finished wine.  The nose is immediately intense and appealing peaches and cream. The palate has an exceptional balance of rich, creamy fruit and elegant complexity.  Ideal to drink as an aperitif but also a delicious accompaniment to dishes such as the classic Poulet de Bresse aux morilles. Guillaume Gonnet Vigneron Le Hardi Cotes du Rhone Villages 2015 (Rhone Valley)

Planted on a South facing plateau the soil structure is made up of round pebbles on the surface, red clay and limestone soil. Average vine age is 50 years old planted at a density of 4000 vines per HA. Often described as a “Baby Châteauneuf du Pape”, this wine is rich , complex, yet approachable. Red and dark fruits, cherries, spices and liquorice on the nose and palate.  Barbequed duck or lamb, lovely with French style cheeses. See more here

Domaine de Montredon Picpoul de Pinet 2016 (Languedoc)

KWM is perched at the Mouth of Carlingford Lough, a placed famed for the quality of its oysters. It should come as no surprise therefore that we are constantly on the look out for good Picpoul De Pinet, the ultimate wine to accompany oysters. Montredon offers aromas of green apple, citrus, pear and pear-drop. A crisp and refreshing palate with pear, green apple and a salty hint to the mineral laden finish.See more here
