Thistledown Gorgeous Grenache Rose (South Australia, Australia)

Masters of Wine, Giles Cooke & Fergal Tynan, founded Thistledown Wines in 2010 after discovering iconic vineyard sites in the McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills.  They make hand-made, small-batch wines that perfectly illustrate the benefits of great sites and intelligent, minimalist winemaking.  Fruit for this comes from 2 different old vine fruit sources, one trellised and one bush trained. one hand-picked, one machine picked.  After harvesting the fruit was gently de-stemmed and crushed followed by 3.5 hours on skins to extract minimal colour. This beautifully pale rosé has lovely aromatic wild strawberry and cranberry notes on the nose. The palate is tangy, dry and textural with creamy berry fruit and a deliciously moreish finish. Crafted from old vine Grenache, this racy rosé is a brilliant example of why we think Grenache is so Gorgeous. Ideal as an aperitif or with freshly grilled fish. See more here

The Ned Marlborough Southern Valleys Pinot Rose (Marlborough, New Zealand)

A sensitively handled blend of two Pinot varieties; one where the Noir delivers a long, saturated core of pure berry fruit flavour with crisp acid edges and a lightly drying tannin tail whilst the Gris provides the perfect juxtaposition – a subtle richness that lends fruit sweetness, flesh and palate texture. A highly versatile wine that neatly bridges the gap between stand-alone, afternoon sipper and being enjoyed alongside a broad range of diverse food styles. Try The Ned Pinot Rose 2016 with turkey larb-stuffed fresh spring rolls. See more here

Farnese Fantini Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rose (Abruzzo, Italy)

The wines from Abruzzo became famous worldwide in the XVI century, thanks to Princess Margaret of Austria and Farnese has made sure it has kept its high reputation throughout the years. Margaret of Austria and her husband Prince Farnese began producing wines of very high quality that were drunk at feasts all over Europe. Farnese has carried on this tradition with a highly advanced, complete and flawless programme of production and marketing.  Harvest for these grapes is at the beginning of October. Soft stalk-stripping and crushing. Brief maceration on skins (about 6 hours). Fermentation without skins for 15 days at 12°C in order to obtain ideal colour and taste.  This wine is bright cherry pink. Intense and persistent, delicate fragrance, very fruity with notes of small red fruits (strawberry). Medium body, intense, well-balanced, soft and round, very long in the mouth. Drink young.  It matches perfectly with fish, first light courses and white meat. Excellent in between meals. See more here

Guillaume Gonnet Vigneron La Nymphe Tavel (Rhone Valley, France)

Grapes for this Tavel Rose come from 25 years old vines on a limestone bedrock and sandy topsoil.  After harvest, they are directly pressed after a cold soak on the skins for 12 – 18 hours to extract the delicate colour.  No oak ageing occurs with this wine.  Consistently one of our favourite Roses this Tavel is a round, textured rose.  A gorgeous, vibrant, dark, pink colour. Loads of fruit on the nose and palate - strawberry, cherries, watermelon, peach, and nectarine with a nice dry, refreshing finish. This wine is not only pretty, but tastes delightful. You may have trouble sharing it!  Incredibly versatile. Pasta, aperitif, freshly cut melon, goat's cheese. This wine loves a barbecue. Meat and salads  Forget Provence! Drink this!! See more here

Sartori Pinot Grigio Rose (Veneto, Italy)

Pietro Sartori founded the Sartori di Verona winery in this northeastern Italian city in 1898 in order to guarantee a consistent supply of quality wines for his thriving hotel. This marked the birth of Sartori di Verona. Its primary identity tightly knit with the Verona region, now extends itself at the beginning of the new millennium, beyond the borders of the Veneto in order to meet the demands of the global market.  At the same time however, the goal of the family will always be to guarantee the highest quality across a wide range of wines that embody their individual terroir and favour indigenous grape varieties.  A delicate pink colour this elegant wine from Sartori has crisp, clean summer fruit flavours on the palate and a style that sits slightly on the sweeter side of off dry.  See more here

Senorio de Sarria Navarra Garnacha Rose (Navarra, Spain)

The 1,300-hectare estate of Señorío de Sarría is located at a historically key site of the Camino de Santiago: Puente La Reina. An air of solemnity and the lustre of a bygone age pervade at this unique estate, where Navarra wine has been made from its specially selected vine plots for centuries.  This Rosado presents hues of intense redcurrant.  On the nose, there are fresh and intense aromas of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant) while the palate is fresh, fruity and persistent with red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) good length and persistence.  Pairs well with Rice dishes, pasta or vegetables. See more here
