IONA ONE MAN BAND
Iona say that this is their very best red wine. I tend to agree! Although this isnt an inexpensive wine by any means, it certainly offers great value for money.
A blend of 6 varieties, this is a masterful bottling and a great example of where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Vibrant and hugely flavoured on the nose and palate. Beautifully balanced at all times.
Try with all sorts of roast red meats or a good cheese board

The 2009 One Man Band is a blend of 36% Syrah, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Mourvedre. It has an attractive, smoky, cigar-box bouquet that is fresh and well-defined, but will give more with a couple of years in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with spicy, edgy black and red fruit on the entry, vibrant acidity and nicely integrated oak on the cedar-infused finish. A little rough around the edges at the moment, but it should meld together nicely with bottle age.
