These thoughtful, hand-crafted wines hail from the Hunter Valley with a nod in part to the great Rhône Valley wines of Hermitage and Cote Rôtie. For those who may have tasted any legendary Hunter Shiraz wines of the 40s, 50s and 60s, tasting many of the modern Hunter wines can be a depressing experience but Keith Tulloch is very different, adding to that great legacy with a series of wines that uniquely capture the exotic spice and hedonistic pleasure of dense and rich Shiraz fruit. These are sensuous, subtle wines with the velvety texture of fine burgundy.

A signature Aussie wine from one of the great Semillon producers. This Semillon is bright and has lifted aromas of lemon and lime on the nose which are inviting one to explore this wine in greater depth. Early picked, having only 11% alcohol, this Semillon has very delicate mouth-feel and nimbleness, yet shows astoundingly bright lime-fruit and green-melon presence and persistence. The acidity is totally balanced, giving sustaining juicy vigour and fine structure. A classic Hunter Semillon.

"So many young semillons these days have lemon and/or lime flavours they should look like young rieslings, but (mercifully) they don't - the differences in the regions or origin and, importantly, the acidity, makes the description of Hunter Valley semillon correct in its context but not universally. This has a delicacy of lemon/lime flavour, and the acidity is neatly balanced. Incidentally, the description of the fruit is that of Keith Tulloch."
