MENDIETA OSABA 'MENDI' TEMPRANILLO
Mendieta Osaba Wines is a small production, family-owned winery located at the skirts of the Sierra Cantabria, more precisely, Lanciego in the heart of the much sought after Rioja Alavesa terroir. The Mendieta Osaba family has been passionately growing grapes on its family's historic vineyards for generations. Juantxu Mendieta, a.k.a. "Mendi" by his friends and family in his pueblo, produces quality, handcrafted wines that are limited in production and a true reflection of this very special terroir.
MENDI by Mendieta Osaba is made of 100% Tempranillo from 15-30 year old vines and is vinified using carbonic maceration for a fruit forward smooth and easy drinking Rioja suitable for many dishes and occasions.
Brilliant cherry red colour with violet tones, lush blackberries and a dash of spice on the nose while the palate has a smooth texture, clean, juicy flavours, lots of body and a long finish.
Try with beef, chicken, roast pork, ribs, chili con carne, southwestern food, barbecues and/or farmhouse cheese.
