Montes as we know it today was set up in 1987 by Aurelio Montes and 3 business partners to make and market quality wine and showcase it around the world at a time when Chile was known for only entry level "cheap and cheerful" wines. With iconic wines such as Alpha M, Folly and Purple Angel gaining cult status around the globe, and their Alpha range of wines continuing to over deliver for their price points, Montes are a company which regularly indicate Chile is still capable of produced excellent quality and excellent value bottles of wine.
