Best bubbly for every budget!

The anticipation of the clocks counting down, Big Ben on the TV and the fireworks ready to go. Glasses of champagne at the ready. This is easily my favourite way to celebrate New Years.  Whether its celebrating the end of 2017 or the start of 2018, for better or worse, a glass of bubbles in hand always makes it better.

To make choosing the right Champagne or Prosecco regardless of busget we have put together a list of  recommendations for each price point.  Starting from great value Prosecco's to exclusive Champagnes this range covers everyone, but if you prefer to just look at our current range of Sparkling then click here.

Under £20

Cavit Lunetta Prosecco - 29% Off 6+ Purchases.

First on our list is Cavit Lunetta Prosecco.  Ah yes, the ubiquitous Prosecco, every girl's best friend and sadly often much maligned due to so much thin force carbonated supermarket dross out there now.  Not this though. Packed full of ripe apple and pear flavours with a vibrant mousse and characteristic bitter twist on the finish.

Great for getting the party started or if you have lots to cater for!

Simonnet-Febvre Cremant De Bourgogne Brut - 20% Off 6+ Purchases.

Cremant is essientially Champagne but from another part of France (though doesn't exclusively use the same grape varieties in production).  As the name suggests this Cremant is from Burgundy and does use the smae varieties, Chardonnay/Pinot Noir.   Being those couple of hundred miles south of Champgne adds weight and ripeness to the finished wine with a lovely subtle autolytic character.  Lemon, pineapple and melon with subtle shades of honey are what you'll fiind here.

The palate is perfectly balanced with a soft texture and gentle flow of bubbles. Hints of citrus fruit and ripe pear lead to a beautifully long finish.  This isa wine which not only works well as an aperitif, but will follow through fishs courses very well.

An elegant choice.

Under £35

Lallier Champagne R012 NV - 13% Off a Bottle.

The “Série R” is the result of a deep reflection upon one year’s harvest. A large majority of the cuvee R.012 comes from the vintage 2012. The rich and creamy delicacy of this wine perfectly matches with the art of drinking and eating well.

R.012 is a symbol of balance and aromatic expression. It is clad in a bright, golden yellow hue. Initially delicate with subtle, fresh aromas of citrus and white flowers, this champagne then opens out to sumptuous notes of plums and acacia honey. R.012 gently coats the palate and its creamy bubbles are simply fabulous. The finish is long and caressing.

This is a wine which defies its price point and offers exceptional value for money.

Bellavista Alma Cuvee Brut - 36% Off 3+ Purchases.

'This Alma Cuvee Brut pays a tender homage to the place where it comes from and to the people who have cared and nurtured it to such a high standard, that one would almost be bold enough to say it is perfection in a glass. Almost.' Monica Larner for eRobertParker.com: 92/100 points

High praise for this Franciacorta from some of the world's leading critics and indeed many other Franciacorta's mean that thay are quickly establishing this Italian Champagne Method Sparkling as one to watch going forward.

A superbly balanced effort and a real Champagne challenger but with a fruitier edge.

Under £50

A superb Vintage Champagne from this wonderful house well worth the spend.

Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve - 25% Off 3+ Purchases.

This is easily one of the best Champagne houses we have tasted in recent times.  The Brut NV spends 7 years on lees after vintage to build complexity and balance - the same length of time as Dom Perignon - and it really shows through on the wine.  This is class in a glass.

A radiant pale gold colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is characterised by complex pastry aromas, with an opulent combination of ripe apricot, mango and greengages, dried fruits, pistachio and almond.

The palate begins with a silky-smooth sensation, developing into ripe fleshy apricot, melon and enticing plum pastry notes and delicate spice. There is perfect balance of freshness and generosity.

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Vintage 2008 - 10% Off a Bottle.

As with every vintage, this wine is a reflection of the years weather and climate. 2008 ended wonderfully with the grapes maturing in ideal conditions. The harvests, grouped together throughout Champagne, took place between mid-September and early October, in perfect weather. The quality of this harvest was exceptional, with great potential for aging.

Naturally then, 2008 was declared a Veuve Clicquot Vintage, the third in the decade following 2002 and 2004 and the Houses 65th since its first Vintage of 1810.

A wine of consistency and class from year to year.

Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose Champagne Brut NV - 11% Off 6+ Purchases.

Often regarded as the best Rose Champagne out there,  Laurent Perrier is an elegant and massively enjoyable bottle of wine, flavours of raspberry, strawberry and a little chalky character on the finish.
