Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Maison Bleue 2012 £54.95
Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Maison Bleue La Maison Bleue is the new name of the cuvée La Petite Chapelle from Domaine Jaboulet, now emblematic of this fabulous wine estate in Rhône Valley. The difference between Jaboulet’s two cuvées of Hermitage is in the plots used. Jaboulet owns 50 acres of Hermitage spread out across the hill. Of great richness and suppleness, this cuvée is also full of tannins present but polished in the mouth. Food and wine matching: Red meat, Poultry, Game meat Beautiful cassis, truffle, damp earth, and ground pepper emerge from the 2019 Hermitage La Maison Bleue. Coming from the eastern portion of Hermitage Hill, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a rounded, opulent texture, building tannins, and a great finish. It's certainly in the same league (and style) as 2018, and while it's going to drink nicely at a young age, my money is on it evolving gracefully for 20-25 years.
