PIAZZANO CHIANTI SUPERIORE
A classic Chianti made up of a blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino grown on clay loam soil with rock fragments.
Harvest takes place from the second week of September to the first two weeks of October and is done mechanically for speed of harvest at the optimum ripeness. Grapes are then soft pressed and macerated on skins for a period of 3 weeks with pumping over the cap.
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs with native yeasts. Ageing is completed in cement tanks with further ageing in bottle for 4/5 months.
Ruby red colour, lovely red cherry and floral hints, elegant and intense on the palate. Drinks well for up to 8/10 years under the correct conditions.
