Pine Ridge Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, Pine Ridge Vineyards sits in the heart of the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, famous for Cabernet Sauvignon wines of distinctive power and elegance. They strive to produce the best cabernet sauvignon in Napa Valley.
Today, the winery owns estate vineyards in five premier Napa Valley appellations: Stags Leap District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. Everyone on their team, from vineyard to cellar, is united in the desire to create wines that honour their remarkable origins with a unique expression.
The 2019 vintage began with a wet and cool spring, which pushed bud break out two weeks later than in 2018. The summer growing season was relatively uneventful, with no heat spikes, and due to the moderate weather and late bud break, veraison did not end until early August in some areas of the valley. Autumn brought hot days and cool nights which helped push the grapes to full ripening, while preserving their acidity. As a result, the wines produced from this vintage are full and robust with deep colour.
With inviting aromas of ripe blueberry, spiced plum, cinnamon, and vanilla, this deep ruby wine captures the senses. The palate opens with blueberry and ripe plum fruits that intermingle with hints of cinnamon. The complex array of flavours lasts through the lingering finish, framed by velvety tannins and echoes of coconut and roasted espresso bean.
