Poggio Landi Brunello di Montalcino
The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Poggio Landi rises from a mono-varietal selection of top-choice Sangiovese grapes picked from the Poggio Landi vines growing at an altitude of 180-500 meters above sea level.
Aged for 38 months in French oak barrels and 6 months in bottles, the Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Landi speaks of vigour and elegance, sounding out the very characteristics that have won this wine variety worldwide fame and acclaim.
A “cool” vintage. The winter proved generally mild and averagely wet. The spring brought zero problems and the vines responded well. The summer changed the face of this vintage: temperatures never reached their usual highs and rainfall was evenly distributed. During the harvest, which began at the end of September, the conditions were mild with significant swings in temperature between day and night, ensuring optimal grapes.
Complex on the nose, with distinctive nuances of ripe red fruit and spices such as black pepper and liquorice. The same ripe red fruits continue on the palate, accompanied by vanilla notes. Very long finish.
