Powers Whiskey

Founded in 1791 by John Power at the John's lane distillery in Dublin. 1886 saw it become the first Irish distillery to bottle its own product at a time when most whiskey was shipped in barrel to independent whiskey bonders. Whiskey bottled at the John's Lane distillery then was given the now distinctive Gold Label while independent bottling's took a white label. Distillation moved to Midleton in Co. Cork in 1974 where it now remains part of the Irish Distillers group of whiskies and latest releases include the Powers John's Lane which won The Whisky Bible Irish Whiskey of the Year in 2012.
