TEELING WHISKEY COMPANY BARLEYWINE SMALL BATCH COLLABORATION
At Teeling Whiskey they believe in driving the evolution of Irish whiskey through the creation of new and unique expressions. Part of this innovation mission they have developed a new family of small-batch collaborations aimed at capturing the spirit between like-minded mavericks of their trade. Their latest release and the second in their collabrative series with Galway Bay Brewery captures the unique influence Barleywine has played in the further maturation of their flagship Small Batch Blend. The result is something wholly unique, reinforcing their ambition to craft and create the most interesting of whiskies.
Following the success of their 200 Fathoms, Imperial stout release they knew they wanted to continue to work with Galway bay, harnessing their mutual dedication to crafting full on flavour. Firstly, Teeling gave Galway bay their ex-rum barrels, used to marry their small batch whiskey to produce their own Teeling Whiskey Aged Barleywine. On their return, they refilled these casks with their small batch whiskey, allowing the whiskey to benefit from further maturation in these Barleywine Barrels. This whiskey has captured a significant depth of flavour, a punchy ale aroma on the nose gives way to a creamy barley sweetness, Intermingling with notes of cherry, apple and rum raisin.
