Amarone and Valpolicella are two indispensable names when referring to Veneto and Monte del Fra produces some of the most appreciated bottles of these extraordinary reds. one of the most long-lived wines among the great Italian wines.

Lena di Mezzo, is an entirely terraced estate of 17.80 ha located in the heart of Fumane, a splendid hilly area with a tuffaceous, clayey and calcareous soil, in which we have tried to express to the maximum the partnership between terroir and native grapes, a unique heritage of Verona.

Amarone Della Valpolicella

Compact ruby red wine with garnet reflections. The aromaspeziato, warm, with notes of ripe plum, black cherries in spirit, leather and undergrowth. The intense, enveloping, silky and full-bodied taste.

Roasted Meat - Grilled, Blue Cheeses, Aged Cheeses, Meditation, First Courses, Earth Risotto, Game

Winemaking: Temperature-controlled stainless steel

Ageing: 24 months in oak barrels and 8 months in bottle. This wine must be left to rest for a few years in the cellar to be able to express itself at its best.

Valpolicella Ripasso

Deep ruby red color, the nose perceives notes of cherries in spirit, marasche, plums and licorice. Spices such as pepper and cinnamon. Hints of undergrowth. On the palate it is dry sapid, pleasantly harmonious.

Cold cuts, Roasted meat - Grilled, Aged cheeses, Risotto di Terra, Game, Stews - Braised meat

Winemaking: Soft destemming and fermentation in small truncated conical steel barrels at a controlled temperature, with daily punching down aimed at favoring the reimmersion of the skins, to facilitate the delicate extraction of the complex polyphenolic heritage typical of the grapes and terroir of Fumane. Once the first fermentation is completed, the skins of the crushed amarone are introduced at the end of winter to give life to a second slow fermentation.

Ageing: After the second fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation in steel, the wine is then placed for at least 18 months in oak barrels French of 30 hl before being bottled.
