Vina Cobos Bramare Malbec Lujan De Cuyo 2019 £31.35
VINA COBOS BRAMARE MALBEC LUJAN DE CUYO
Luján de Cuyo, is known historically as the ‘prime zone’ for wine-growing in Mendoza. Its high elevation(3,251-3,467 ft), in combination with a semi-desert climate and low-nutrient gravelly soils provide ideal conditions for cultivation of high quality fruit.
Deep red colour with violet hues. Very intense aromas of pepper, cloves, cinnamon and other spices, along with black fruits and roses. It is a complex wine, long and structured; Wide and firm tannins and a long end with a lovely red fruit aftertaste.
A succulent wine made to be drunk with succulent meat like a slowroasted leg of lamb.
The Wine Advocate
"Produced with grapes from the classical Mendoza district, the 2015 Bramare Luján de Cuyo Malbec feels very ripe and a little earthy. In more recent vintages, they moved more toward Las Compuertas and fresher zones even within the Luján zone. The palate is medium-bodied, with moderate acidity and some dusty tannins. The combination of ripeness and oak gives it some rusticity. 50,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2017."
