Vina Cobos Cobos Malbec Chanares Estate
One of the distinctive features of this vineyard, located in the Los Árboles district of Valle de Uco, is the native forests of Chañar trees, preserved in a nature reserve for the indigenous species of flora and fauna in the region. This Estate is characterised by poor, yet free-draining, stony, alluvial soils. Combined with the favourable climatic conditions of the 2018 vintage, makes this an extraordinary wine indeed. It was aged for 18 months in a combination of new and second use French oak barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
99 points - James Suckling “Blackberries, ink and blueberries with black-tea and bark undertones. Full-bodied with density and richness that is well framed with beautiful, round and polished tannins and a seamless texture. Goes on for minutes. Try after 2026, but already great.”
