Domaine de Rombeau Le Botaniste Fig 3 Mourvedre & Syrah (Roussillon, France)

The "Le Botaniste" cuvées are the fruit of an ancestral heritage carried by the visionary qualities of Henri de La Fabrègue five generations ago. Today, the knowledge acquired through the years leads them to a culture of the vine that respects its environment and the ecosystem to which it belongs.  Mourvèdre likes clay-limestone soils, its yield must be low so that its stumps are not quickly exhausted which gives this vintage personality and relief. The nose is lively and complex. There are aromas of red and black fruits and grilled cocoa. Serve it at 15°C with seared duck breast, a medium-hot dish with chillies or Spanish Manchego. For Asia, food try a chicken curry a little bit spicy. See more here

La Leyenda de Las Cruces Sauvignon Blanc (Leyda Valley, Chile)

The town of Las Cruces takes its name from the memorial to a famous shipwreck in the 19th Century, and the relentless crashing waves of the Pacific are represented here on the label. The sea does not just bring destruction though, its influence reaches inland and up through the Leyda Valley - tempering the climate and minimising the risk of disease making this a near-perfect place to grow grapes. See more here

Toscolo Chianti (Tuscany, Italy)

Founded in 1988 by Neil and Maria Empson, Toscolo was a labour of love for the Empsons who wanted to express their longtime passion for the Chianti region. They called on friend and world-renowned winemaker, Franco Bernabei to help style the wines, combining fruit and finesse. Toscolo’s vineyards include some of the finest sites in Chianti’s major regions as well as intriguingly diverse terrains and microclimates.  From these select sites, the grapes are cherry-picked according to harvest conditions in the individual terroirs and microclimates.  The wine boasts a ruby colour with notes of berry fruit and iris confirmed on a soft, round, well-balanced palate showing good body, fruity flavours and intensity.  An all-around food wine to match starters, red and white meat and cheese.  See more here

Palacio de Bornos Rueda Verdejo (Rueda, Spain)

Located in Rueda, Palacio De Bornos was founded and began making wine in 1976, alongside the Appelation of Origin Rueda. The initial years were dedicated to consolidating the brand in the Castilla y Leon region, to later begin a rapid expansion both nationally and internationally.  Palacio de Bornos was the first winery in Spain´s Castilla y León region to produce a sparkling wine, in 1978. Since those early days they have sought to exploit the great potential of the Verdejo grape in a single variety wine, with its individual, unique character, to produce a very high-quality traditional-method sparkling wine. Palacio de Bornos boasts 308 hectares of their own vineyards, in the towns of Rueda, Pollos and La Seca, which is more than 30 years old.  The Palacio De Bornos Verdejo presents hues of yellow color with greenish tones. Intense floral aroma, fresh acidity, and fruity notes on the palate. See more here

Heartland Stickleback Shiraz (Langhorne Creek, Australia)

Heartland is that place between the vines with the best view of the gum trees. When they first got together to start Heartland all those years ago, the idea was to embrace the best Australian fruit could offer and create wines of balance and texture with a uniquely Australian identity. They found a pure expression of this identity in Langhorne Creek. This has remained the chief source of their fruit ever since.  The fruit from here produces a wine chock-full of vibrant blackberry fruit flavours, notes of chocolate and plum with a bit of spice to boot, this flavoursome Shiraz is out of the Ben Glaetzer stable, so has a guaranteed pedigree status among its peers. Cracking value for money!  See more here

Cabriz Dao Branco (Dao, Portugal)

Cabriz tells a story that is born in Dão, in a trip through the heart of Portugal, through the lands, hills, and people, presenting a wide portfolio that seeks to fulfill all segments and moments of consumption but always following the same principle: to produce wines that have a great quality. In 1989, in the heart of the Dão wine region,  Dão Sul is born. Inspired in Quinta de Cabriz, a property with a magnificent manor house and a chapel of the XVII century, Dão Sul has become a reference of winemaking in the Dão. Of the vineyards surrounded by pine trees, the grapes produced in integrated production give way to wines with balanced acidity and delicate aromas.  Expect a wine with vibrant citrus notes of lime, lemon and grapefruit with well-balanced acidity and a fresh finish.  Perfect with fish, salads or by itself with friends. See more here
